Strawberry sauce

Here’s a quick and easy method to make your very own strawberry sauce.  This strawberry sauce recipe only requires 2 main ingredients; you can omit the strawberry for any other in-season soft fruits of your choice.

200g Fresh strawberries (washed, hulled and cut into quarter)

100g Caster sugar – (note – taste the strawberries before deciding on the amount of sugar required)

100g Water

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Put all the ingredients in a pan and cook for approx 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Remove from heat and let the sauce cool down completely.

Once cooled, the sauce will have thickened.  To remove the bits from the strawberry sauce, sieve the sauce into a bowl.

The sieve would have some pureed strawberry pieces which can also be used in other recipes.

Place the strawberry sauce and/or strawberry puree in the fridge.  Serve on top of ice cream or other desserts.
